Comment
During pollination (GO:0009856), the pollen (PO:0025281) grows down through a portion of transmitting tissue (PO:0020102) to a plant ovary ovule (PO:0025490) and a megagametophyte (PO:0025279) to effect fertilization (GO:0009566). If you are annotating to this structure for Zea spp., please also add an annotation to the corresponding floret type. Choose the most specific term possible from: ear floret (PO:0006354), or one of the child terms: upper floret of pedicellate spikelet of ear (PO:0006350), or upper floret of sessile spikelet of ear (PO:0006352).
